“Women Boost” is a project that empowers and accompanies women with a migrant background, especially those with African roots. Our goal is to support women who have previously found it difficult or almost impossible to access education, integration, culture, and social participation.

The Mentor Project
What we do: We build bridges and create connections – with a strong focus on community and mutual support. We train women from the communities to become mentors and community organizers. These trained mentors and community organizers support women in various communities, raise awareness for important issues, and help them utilize existing standard services.
TRAINING
Our mentors and community organizers accompany women individually, show them new paths, and help them gain a foothold in education, culture, and society. This knowledge remains within the communities and is passed on there to enable long-term changes and improvements.
To this end, women from diverse communities are empowered to become mentors or community organizers themselves. They learn how to pass on knowledge and support within their communities.
Women boost café
The Women Boost Café serves as a monthly meetup for mentors,, community organizers, and communities to exchange ideas about ongoing work, questions, problems, and challenges. It is a place for meeting, getting to know one another, and empowerment.. In addition, the project coordinator offers professional advice on knowledge gaps regarding specific topics that are relevant to current consultations..
Community Event
A community event is held annually to promote cohesion and celebrate the communities. Through interesting workshops and panel discussions, knowledge is shared and new solutions are found. In a relaxed atmosphere with music and delicious food, the communities exchange ideas, learn about new relevant offers, and discover new talents.
Creativity time
To give women free rein for their creativity and to provide a space for personal development, LESSAN regularly offers workshops with a creative or craft-based focus. If you want to get colorful, you can let off steam at LESSAN’s crochet and painting workshops. Prefer to be in rhythm with yourself? Then stop by LESSAN’s Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, and Mambo– workshop or music workshops for various musical instruments such as guitar, ukulele, drums, kalimba, handpan,, singing bowls, lyre,, or ngoni. . Beginners or advanced participants are warmly welcome!

We want women to be empowered in their diversity and to receive the opportunities they deserve. With “Women Boost,” we work together to create spaces for encounter, development, and participation.
