ConnectME is a mentoring program by LESSAN e.V. that supports women with a migration background who are affected by gender-based violence. Many of the women who come to us carry difficult experiences. They often live in uncertainty, feel abandoned and face the challenge of reorganizing their everyday lives and their future. ConnectME aims to address exactly this: with time, attention and genuine human support.
At the heart of the program is long-term, trust-based 1:1 mentoring. Each participant is individually accompanied by a mentor who continuously supports and strengthens her – not with ready-made solutions, but with an open view of her story, her strengths and her own goals.
Together, personal goals are defined and concrete steps are developed – whether in everyday life, with administrative questions, building social contacts or on the path to education and work. This close support creates stability, promotes self-confidence and enables sustainable development.
ConnectME means more than support. It means reconnecting – with yourself and with others. Together, ways out of social isolation are found, linguistic confidence is strengthened and new contacts are built. These connections are often the beginning of something new: more self-confidence, more stability and the courage to make your own decisions.
Professional orientation also plays an important role: participants receive guidance and support to develop and actively pursue their own future perspectives.
ConnectME pursues the goal of sustainably empowering women and opening up paths to a self-determined life. The program not only creates short-term support, but has a long-term impact – for more safety, participation and social integration.
